Renaissance

Renaissance is a campaign promoting second-hand clothes as the most sustainable, ethical, and expressive alternative to fast fashion and micro-trends. Through a variety of mediums, this campaign aims to highlight educational and inspiring material that shows the endless potential of thrifted fashion.

One of the most important parts of this project was photographing real people who shop second-hand. Using these individuals as the spokespeople for the campaign instilled it with authenticity and relatability, showing that it really is possible to change your consumption habits.

I sourced these 10 people through personal connections and photographed them in their favorite thrifted clothes. Every model is shown within an environment that is personal to them and their unique aesthetic. The resulting photography is used throughout the campaign deliverables.

2024 Thrifted Fashion Lookbook

Informational Booklets

These booklets are another print deliverable that would be distributed to not only describe the campaign but also emphasize why the issue is so important to us and our planet.

Topics covered include the environmental effects of fast fashion, the negative impact of micro-trends on the fashion industry, and how thrifting can bring about change in these areas.

The Renaissance lookbook is the most substantial deliverable of the campaign. Each of the 10 models has a section of the book in which their clothing, personality, and unique perspective on second-hand fashion is showcased.

These books would be one aspect of the campaign, utilizing print media to encourage viewers to slow down and really engage with the content. This process mirrors the campaign’s values, which promotes mindful consumption.

In order to catch fast fashion where it is most rampant, the campaign would also have a social media aspect.

This graphic is a representation of how social media platforms like TikTok can be harnessed to show how expressive and fun thrifted fashion can be. Through the hashtag, #ShareYourRewear, users can post their second-hand finds and encourage others to do the same.

Let’s work together!
